In 1860, Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded his own watch company for the first time in the small farming village of Sonvilier, on the road from St. Imier to La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Since then, the Chopard name has built an excellent reputation for gold pocket watches, from extra flat to very complicated. Chopard now produces many high-quality accessories such as perfume and cologne.
