Although the brand is called Liz Claiborne, it was founded in 1976 as a collaboration between four fashion designers: Claiborne, Art Ortenberg, Leonard Boxer and Jerome Chazen. Before joining Liz Claiborne Inc. Claiborne studied informal art in Europe and then worked in Manhattan for a number of different design firms. She started Liz Claiborne with the intention of designing stylish and affordable sportswear for women at a time when the growing working female population had few wardrobe options. In 1986, the company unveiled the first in a long line of Liz Claiborne fragrances, simply titled Liz Claiborne, and a Liz Claiborne cologne for men, named Claiborne, followed in 1989.
The company has worked with many well-known names in the perfume industry, including Chanel perfumer Olivier Polge and New York IFF perfumer Jean-Marc Chaillan, to create their luxury perfumes and colognes, and the result is evident in the quality of their sought-after Liz Claiborne perfumes line. No matter what kind of woman you are shopping for, there is definitely a Liz Claiborne perfume for her. Is she the playful kind who is always up for an adventure? Try Bora Bora, which is reminiscent of salt and sand and a fresh breeze. Is she always a lady, graceful and feminine? She may like Lucky You, a light flower with a hint of grapefruit and poppy. Do you know someone who loves a night out and draws dimes everywhere she goes? There is also a Liz Claiborne perfume for her: Try Spark, a sensual blend of caramel, vanilla, honey and cedar.
Liz Claiborne cologne for men has plenty of options too, from the exotic and enchanting Mambo to the oriental Lucky Number 6 and the invigorating Curve Appeal.
