The great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of Hilton Hotels, socialite Paris Hilton had a golden future from the start. Following in the footsteps of her actress, grandmother and aunts, Hilton began a stage career as a model at charity shows in Los Angeles. In 1996, at the age of 15, she moved with her family to New York City, where she joined a modeling agency. In the early 2000s, her scandalous, party-heavy lifestyle earned her gossip magazine fame and a reality show, The Simple Life, featuring childhood girlfriend Nicole Richie. But over the next decade, she would work to tame her image, hone her skills as a businesswoman. The result was more than a dozen successful product lines, including Paris Hilton fragrances.
In 2005 Hilton started her fragrance empire with Paris Hilton perfume for her. Encased in a thin pink bottle with black stripes, this debut perfume makes a classic impression with its mix of sweet, floral and musky tones. She characterizes this and her other early fragrances as "more girly, almost Disney fantasy-ish," a quality immediately recognizable in scents such as the white flower fairy dust and creamy floral sirens.
Starting with 2016's Gold Rush, Hilton's fragrances have taken on a more mature and sophisticated tone. Gold Rush sought to capture "the captivating beauty of Old Hollywood" through the attention-grabbing, sensual aromas of exotic citrus and sweet spices. The 23rd Paris Hilton perfume for her, Rosé Rush, the second installment in the Gold Rush fragrance line, even won the 2017 FiFi Fragrance of the Year award.
Four of Paris Hilton's fragrances for women have a companion Paris Hilton cologne for men. These colognes are strong, masculine translations of some of the most popular women's perfumes, including the original Paris Hilton perfume for hair and Gold Rush.
